Operation Ring: Voskepar

A pril-July, 1991: Exactly 31 years ago, the Soviet-Azerbaijani forces initiated and carried out the military-police “Ring” operation aimed at evicting the Armenians from a number of border regions of Armenia and from the Armenian settlements of Artsakh.

The following units were involved in the operation:

►military units of the 23rd Motor Rifle Division of 4rt Army of the Transcaucasus Military District of the USSR

► the 104th Guards Airborne Division
► the subdivisions of the Baku Regiment of the USSR MFA
► the Special Purpose Police Forces of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan(OMON)
