On June 12–13, 2025, Johnny Melikyan, Head of the International Relations Research Service at the Public Relations and Information Center of the Prime Minister’s Office of Armenia, participated in the 6-th SCO Think Tank Forum held in Shanghai, People's Republic of China.

The forum, themed “Promoting the Shanghai Spirit for Sustainable Development,” was co-hosted by the Shanghai University of Political Science and Law and the China National Institute for SCO International Exchange and Judicial Cooperation.

J. Melikyan spoke during the session titled “Upholding Diverse Civilizations and Pursuing Shared Values”, highlighting the evolving strategic dialogue between Armenia and China. He referred to the recent official visit of Armenia’s Foreign Minister to China and Armenia’s expression of interest to become a member of the SCO as clear signals of deepening ties. Melikyan underscored Armenia’s view of the SCO as an effective platform for promoting cultural diversity, strengthening mutual understanding, and contributing to the formation of a multipolar world order.
